Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, the Defining Your Butterfly Egypt local representative will meet and assist you, helping you navigate passport control, customs formalities, and the luggage area. You will then be driven to your 5-star hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle.

Following this, you will be driven to your 5-star hotel in a private air-conditioned vehicle for drop-off. Start retreat on October 13th - check in St Regis Hotel. This elegant evening will be our first chance to toast to the incredible journey ahead. As the sun sets, you may enjoy the Sound and Light show at the Temples of Karnak for an additional $60 USD. Behold the illuminated Great Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza under a starry sky. After the show, enjoy a meal at one of Egypt's finest restaurants, such as The Revolving Restaurant. Experience exquisite dining with panoramic views of Cairo, making for a truly memorable evening.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a fascinating tour of the Giza Plateau, just 30 minutes from Cairo. Your knowledgeable Egyptologist guide will provide a captivating introduction to each of the three pyramids: Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure—the only surviving wonders of the Ancient World.

You'll have free time to explore the burial chambers of the pyramids (optional, for an additional cost), although your guide will not enter to avoid overcrowding. Experience the unique thrill of riding a camel around the pyramids (included). Continue across the plateau for a stunning photo opportunity with the pyramids rising majestically from the sands, framed by the Cairo skyline.
Afternoon:
Next, a short drive will bring you to the Great Sphinx. Standing at 190 feet in length and 65 feet high, this enigmatic symbol of Egypt has guarded the royal tombs for thousands of years. Carved from a single piece of rock in the shape of a lion with a pharaoh's head, the Sphinx is a sight to behold.

Your journey then takes you to Sakkara, home to Egypt's oldest pyramid, built in 2650 B.C. Here, your guide will share the history of the famous Step Pyramid, and you'll have free time to explore the area. Your final historical stop is Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. See artifacts from Egypt's great rulers, including the fallen statue of Ramses II. Visit a Papyrus Institute to learn how this iconic artwork is made and perhaps purchase some genuine pieces.

Evening:
Conclude your evening with a captivating performance at Wekalet El-Ghouri, where you'll watch the 2-hour Sufi Dance show, a traditional Egyptian performance that will leave you spellbound. After the show, indulge in a gourmet dinner at Osmanly, one of Egypt's finest 5-star restaurants. Savor exquisite Ottoman cuisine in a luxurious setting, making for an unforgettable dining experience. Return to your hotel for a well-deserved rest, reflecting on the day's memorable experiences.

After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, your day begins with a visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. Home to over 250,000 artifacts, this museum is a treasure trove of Egypt's rich history. The highlight is undoubtedly the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamun, including his five gold-gilded coffins and his iconic gold mask. Your Egyptologist guide will introduce you to the most significant pieces before allowing free time to explore the museum at your own pace.

Next, you will visit the Mosque and Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, renowned as the pinnacle of Islamic architecture. Marvel at the intricate designs and historical significance of this magnificent structure. Your journey continues to the Alabaster Mosque at the Citadel of Salah el-Din. Perched on a limestone hill overlooking Cairo, this famous mosque is the city's most important. The lower part is adorned with alabaster, while the upper part is constructed from limestone cladding removed from the Pyramids of Giza. Inside, your guide will introduce you to the basic beliefs of Islam, including translations of common prayers.

Conclude your day with an authentic cultural experience by having dinner with a local Egyptian family. After breakfast at your hotel, you will be driven to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival in Aswan, our representative will meet and assist you, ensuring a smooth transition as you embark on your luxurious Nile cruise aboard the 5-star MS Mayfair for the next 4 days and 3 nights.

Your first adventure in Aswan is a tour of the world-famous High Dam, an engineering marvel constructed in the 1960s that has had a profound impact on Egypt's economy and culture. Next, you will take a motorboat to the island of Agilkia to visit the majestic Philae Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Isis. This temple is renowned for its stunning architecture and the beautiful island setting.

In the afternoon, you will explore the Nubian Village. This visit offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant Nubian culture and learn about their rich history and traditions. After a day full of exploration, return to your luxurious cruise ship, the MS Mayfair, for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay on board.

Start your day with a sumptuous breakfast on board the luxurious MS Mayfair. Today, you'll embark on a journey to one of Egypt's most awe-inspiring sites—the Temples of Ramses II in Abu Simbel. Travel by bus through the desert to reach this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site, part of the "Nubian Monuments" which stretch from Abu Simbel to Philae. The twin temples, carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC, stand as a lasting monument to his power and his queen, Nefertari. Marvel at the colossal statues of Ramses II, standing guard over the entrance, and the intricate carvings and hieroglyphics that adorn the interior. Your Egyptologist guide will explain the fascinating history behind this magnificent site, including how the temples were discovered by accident in 1813. Due to the large number of visitors, guides are not permitted inside either of the two temples, allowing you personal time to explore.
Afternoon:
Return to Aswan and reboard the luxurious MS Mayfair for lunch. Settle into your plush surroundings as the cruise sets sail for Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, you will be escorted by your Egyptologist guide to visit the Kom Ombo Temple, dedicated to the crocodile-headed god Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world

Enjoy a leisurely lunch aboard your cruise, followed by free time to relax and take in the scenic views as you sail towards Edfu. Here, you'll explore the well-preserved Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved shrines in Egypt, dedicated to the falcon god. As the cruise continues down to Luxor, indulge in afternoon tea served on the sun deck, followed by a gourmet dinner. Conclude your day with an overnight stay on board the ards Edfu. Your exploration continues with a visit to the Hatshepsut Temple at El Deir El Bahary. Return to the MS Mayfair for a sumptuous lunch on board. Enjoy your afternoon tea on the sun deck, soaking in the breathtaking views of the Nile. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the luxurious amenities of the cruise.

After breakfast, you will be accompanied by your guide to visit the Karnak Temples, the largest and one of the most impressive places of worship ever built. Known in ancient times as Ipet-isut, meaning “the most sacred of places,” this vast complex was constructed over more than 2,000 years by successive generations of pharaohs. As you explore, you'll encounter the awe-inspiring Hypostyle Hall, an enormous space filled with towering pillars that create a forest of stone.

Next, you will be transferred to the Luxor Temple, built by Pharaohs Amenhotep III and Ramses II. This temple was dedicated to the god Amun and was the center of rituals and festivals. The grandeur of its statues, obelisks, and carvings will leave you in awe of the ancient craftsmanship and religious devotion.

Today, we embark on an exhilarating journey through the Siwa Desert ‘Great Sand Sea’ beginning with a visit to Meraki Village. You'll cross the desert in enclosed transportation, making our first stop near one of the unique archaeological sites at the Great Siwa Mountain, where the first human footprint above the mountain dates back to the prehistoric era.
Afternoon:
Our desert safari continues with sand surfing across the towering dunes, eventually arriving at a remarkable fossil area. Here, you'll witness rocky coral reefs that date back to the Cambrian era, a testament to the ancient history embedded within these sands.

After an exciting day of sand surfing through Egypt's dunes, we'll return to the hotel for a refreshing shower, preparing for the soothing tranquility of some of Egypt’s most prized hot and cold springs in the heart of the Sahara Desert. We'll visit Bir Wahed and Shiata Lake to soak in the hot and cold natural spring. Shiata Lake, comes with it a special charm of graceful flamingo birds singing while surrounded by the serene desert landscape.

In the evening, we'll head back to Adrère Amellal to savor a delightful dinner or head out to the #1 local restaurant in Siwa called Abdu Restaurant (optional).
